INTRODUCTION

Organisations typically have many policies, procedures, hardware, software and process security protections in place to manage cyber security. Unfortunately, most information security or successful cyber-attacks or breaches are due to users, employees, managers and executives not identifying the signs of attempted attacks, when a successful attack has occurred or taking the appropriate day to day precautions or post attack actions. The need for training is therefore an essential part of an IT security programme.

AIM OF THE COURSE

To enable information technology users to appreciate the part they play in the security and safety of data, the systems they use and the precautions that need to be taken.

At the end of the training trainees will be able to:

  • Appreciate the important part they play in cyber security within the organisations policy and security system
  • Recognise the main Actors in cyber-attacks and the typical targets in the organisation relating to Phishing
  • Appreciate the main areas of vulnerability from malicious attacks on systems and acquisition of data
  • Understand how to protect and defend against cyber attacks
  • Understand the importance of reporting a cyber incident or if they have any concerns

WHO IS IT FOR?

The course has been developed for all levels of employees in an organisation who operate information technology hardware and software.

HOW IS IT DELIVERED?

Information and Cyber Security Awareness can be delivered online or through a computer network to each trainee at their desktop, laptop or device. The training can be completed at the employees’ own pace by ‘book marking’ and recording progress and returning to the training at a later stage. In delivering the training in this way the normal cost of training are reduced whilst still achieving the desired awareness and compliance with the organisation’s obligations. At the end of the training the trainee will complete an assessment.

COMPLIANCE RECORD KEEPING INSTANTLY SOLVED

An invaluable feature of Praxis42 eLearning modules is our learning management system (LMS) called SHINE. This solves the problem of compliance record keeping by recording completion of modules and making them available for you to view and manage electronically. No more struggling to find training records should you have a visit from the enforcing agency or an audit. We can also provide the course to be integrated into a SCORM compliant LMS
