The Equality Act came into force in 2010 bringing together a number of pieces of existing legislation. The Act covers discrimination because of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation. These categories are known in the Act as ‘protected characteristics’. In order to comply with legislation, and help foster an environment of fairness and equality for all employees, it is important that your organisation and all of its employees are aware of the content of, and their responsibilities under the Act.
Our Equality and Diversity for Managers eLearning will help inform and protect your managers by offering an introduction to the legislation and it’s implication in the workplace. Using real-life case studies and scenarios, this interactive course will outline the protected characteristics, offer an understanding of the rights and responsibilities of all employees under the law, and provide managers with practical guidance and help in key areas including recruitment, working hours, pay and redundancy.
