Health and Safety Awareness – Lower Risk Environments
All employees are required to receive health and safety training to ensure that they are able to identify common hazards in the workplace and how to deal with them. They must also understand the purpose of risk assessments and the part they play in developing the controls that are put in place to protect themselves and others. The Health and Safety Awareness – Lower Risk Environments course we have developed provides an interactive experience for trainees to learn the basic elements of health, safety and environment in the workplace and is ideally suited as initial training in a lower risk environment, the basis for other specific training in a blended approach or as a refresher training course.
Aims of the Course
Health and Safety Awareness – Lower Risk Environments course aims to give employees the essential information they need to work safely in a lower risk environment such those found in retailing , hospitality, banking, insurance, legal and offices for example. The course follows a nationally recognised syllabus where at the end of the training trainees will be able to:
- Understand their responsibilities for health, safety and environment issues in the workplace.
- Recognise the part they can play in securing the health and safety of themselves and others.
- Improve the safety performance of the organisation by recognising hazards and risks and knowing what to do.
- Ensure accidents and incidents are reported and take part in finding solutions to prevent a reoccurrence.
- Recognise common hazards in the workplace and know what to do to prevent accidents and ill-health.
- Appreciate the importance of safe behaviours and how a positive health, safety and environment culture affects an organisations performance.
Who is it for?
The course has been developed for all levels of employees in an organisation in a low risk environment with the aim of enabling employees to undertake their jobs safely by achieving greater health and safety awareness.
How is it Delivered?
Health and Safety Awareness – Lower Risk Environments can be delivered online or through a computer network to each trainee at their desktop or laptop. We can also provide the course to be integrated into a SCORM compliant LMS.
The training can be completed at the employees own pace by ‘book marking’ and recording progress and returning to the training at a later stage. In delivering the training in this way the normal costs of training are reduced whilst still achieving the desired awareness and compliance with the organisation’s legal responsibilities. At the end of the training the trainee will complete an assessment.
